We were guests of Mt. Washington Valley located in New Hampshire, all experiences are my own.
As you probably know, we recently went on a mini vacation in New Hampshire. Of the 4 days we spent there, we spent about 48 of those hours in the Mount Washington Valley area. Looking back, I still can’t believe how much action we ended up squeezing into the two days and we had actually arrived late and missed stopping at Wildcat Mountain to go on their ZipRider and scenic Gondola Ride. We were all so disappointed. We had some GPS woes, so be sure to research your location before heading off on a road trip!
Not to worry though, luckily we spotted a little carnival taking place down the road at Gorham Town Common. They had a live band playing, rides and games and of course fabulous smelling junk food that is no good for you but is absolutely tempting at the same time?! Enter deep fried Oreos! So delicious! We were good and shared an order, it was tempting not to get more. They also had cheesecake dipped in chocolate on a stick… oh my! Next time I spot those, I am going to try em!
Next we checked into Royalty Inn located right in the center of all the action. The location is awesome for visiting the area. The rooms were simple and just right for a short stay. I was a little disappointed at the shoddy internet service. Apparently we were staying in the one room that doesn’t get internet? Not a good room for a blogger! But, for a budget friendly vacation with a smart location, this is your place. Our favorite perk was the extensive health club on the property and also the indoor and outdoor pools.
After a run to the local Super Walmart to grab some things we needed for our white water rafting trip we headed off to bed. Next morning, we headed off to Raft NH located just down the road from the hotel for a day of pure excitement! We had such a blast, it was our first time! Our guide was totally awesome and made our first trip an amazing one that we won’t soon forget! After a long day of rafting, we headed off to meet the dogs at Dog Sled NH. We were originally supposed to do their Paws & Paddles package but it was too hot for the dogs to take us out on a rolling sled ride. This is definitely being added to my bucket list for next time.
That was certainly enough adventure for one day! On day two, weather was a little funky so we re-arranged our schedule a bit. First we headed to take a guided tour up Mt. Washington. Because, what would a trip to Mount Washington Valley be if not for a pit stop to the summit of the ole mountain itself? Our guide was unbelievably knowledgeable and told us so many interesting things about everything from A to Z revolving around the mountain.
Lastly, before heading out of the area, we headed over to Northeast ATV to have a sweet tour! On the 2 hour drive we saw some spectacular views including mountains in the distance and even a waterfall! Heck, I even swallowed a few bugs. Good times!
We had such a tremendous time although our visit was short. I literally don’t think we could have packed much more into our trip!
