Comforts of Home in the Heart of North Conway: Cranmore Inn

North Conway, New Hampshire is a wonderful family friendly place to visit and vacation. It was one of the destinations that my family went to almost every year. They would take me to all of the local kiddie parks like Storyland and Six Gun City, it was a wonderful tradition. I had never taken my own son the area, so it was certainly about time to get out there for a visit. In the past, we’d stayed at a family friends timeshare so this was the first time I was to stay in a hotel or Inn right in town.

We had been staying in nearby Gorham for a couple of days before we made it to North Conway.  The weather had not been agreeing with us at all, so we had to re-arrange our original plans. We were supposed to arrive at the Cranmore Inn during their normal check in time but we didn’t end up getting there until 10 at night! I felt so bad because I didn’t realize that there were times to specifically check in prior to arriving, but our host (and co-innkeeper) was so courteous and left a note for us to call if needed. Luckily he had saved our room for us. Phew! I felt like a world class jerk, but he was so super nice and understanding.

That was the tone of our entire two night stay. We had several  conversations over the course our time there and I immediately knew that this Inn was his passion. We felt very welcome and happy to have discovered this little gem and home away from home while visiting North Conway. The Inn is about 150 years old but only recently purchased by Eddie Bennett and Christopher Bellis to breath new love into it. From what I experienced, that is becoming a big reality.

I love how welcoming the front entrance is, it practically says come on in with the big rocking chairs on the porch and generally cheery look.

The room we stayed in was very lovely, the decor was simple and tasteful.  What I noticed mostly was that it was immaculate. Everything was in place and completely spotless and tidy.  There was a queen bed and then the couch pulled out into another spare bed where my son slept.  Another fun addition which must be wonderful in the winter time is the fireplace right in the room.

We slept like babies in our uber quiet room. We didn’t hear a peep from the world around us, which was much needed after traveling for several days.

Mornings at the Inn are quite the treat. Breakfast is included with your stay. And, it’s not just any breakfast… it’s served up fresh and to your likings.  A mini menu is provided for you to choose from. Ours was cooked perfectly and deliciously. It was a huge improvement to the quick breakfast sandwiches we had consumed on the go for the 2 days prior.  My hubby’s fresh blueberry pancakes were the talk of the table! I also really enjoyed my raisin french toast, cooked to perfection. The coffee was made perfectly too! Our innkeeper served our breakfast, so it was an extra chance to get to know him a bit. Overall it was a fun, relaxing and delicious way to start the day.

Other amenities on the property include a wonderful outdoor pool that my son just loved as you can see. Plus he was able to get in there all by himself which he prefers so he can do all his funny little flips and such.

The Inn also has a Hot Tub on the deck, we didn’t have a chance to enjoy it, but it looked magnificent. Would be nice for a little romantic getaway too!

We had a fantastic time and definitely recommend the Cranmore Inn for the comforts of home away from home while in the North Conway area of New Hampshire.  You will feel very welcomed from the moment you arrive!

: Have you ever stayed at a Bed and Breakfast? :

  1. What a great vacation spot! I`ll have to keep it in mind for the future!

  2. This Inn looks incredibly sweet. I would love to stay there.

  3. wow, what a wonderful place to visit. Thank you so much for sharing and bringing this place to my attention. I will be sure to check it out, if in the area

    • I hope you can make it some time! I think you will adore it as much as I did! 😉

  4. This looks like a great place to stay — nice pictures–the only place I ever stayed at a B&B was in Ireland 🙂

  5. This looks like a great place to relax! I’ve always wanted to stay in a place like this with more comforts of home.

  6. I have never stayed at a bed and breakfast but have always wanted too. I didn’t want to when the kids were younger because I was always afraid they would accidentally break something, but now that they are older….

    • Oh yes, that is a concern with the little ones 😉 Now that they are older, I expect a full report on your first B&B stay 😉
