Adventure and Lodging in the Berkshires: Jiminy Peak Mountain Resort

From time to time Adventure Yum is provided with travel services for review purposes. We were guests of Jiminy Peak Mountain Resort in the Berkshires, all opinions are my own.

As you all know, during the last week of June we visited The Berkshires in Massachusetts. It was such a fun place to spend a little time between getting to stand at the highest point in Massachusetts and visiting the Mountain Adventure Park right at Jiminy Peak Mountain Resort. The resort is located in Hancock, MA and is their Country Inn is a quaint place to stay while visiting the area.  You can take advantage of all of the fun activities right on the property and honestly make a little getaway all right there!

The room we stayed in was very nice, it had a queen bed and then the couch in the living room area also dubbed as a pullout bed where my son slept.  Our room had a nice homey feel to it, we really loved the view. You could see the Mountain Park from our room!

Two of the best features of this particular room was the extra sink and mirror in addition to the full bathroom. When getting ready with multiple people, it’s always helpful to have that extra access. Maybe I am getting spoiled, but this is really a big plus for me!  Then, I also loved the kitchenette. While we didn’t do any heavy cooking while we were there it was great to have a refrigerator and microwave in the room.

We found it to be pretty spacious and perfect for an affordable family getaway.  The only run in we had while staying there was about their game room which appears to be under construction yet nobody on the premises was aware of it. So we ended up wasting some time trying to track down this non-existent room. Hopefully they will be getting that up and running soon. It wasn’t a big deal just something to note if trying to keep kids entertained.

Some other wonderful extras you will find at the resort: multiple pools, workout room and access to their nifty Country Store (which totally came in handy because one of use totally forgot our toothbrush)! They also serve lunch there, which is convenient and affordable. Directly in the main building in the Country Inn at the resort is a restaurant called John Harvards. We liked it so much that we dined there both nights that we stayed. Would definitely recommend trying their unique burgers (they also have vegetarian, just ask!).  They also have a couple of other dining options right at the resort… you technically have it all at your fingertips!

One of the highlights of getting to stay at Jiminy Peak Mountain Resort is surely the hands on access to their Mountain Adventure Park (or slopes if staying in the winter).  They also have an Aerial Park too which we didn’t have a chance to check out but looks super neat. They also offer Segway Tours, which are alway so much fun.

We had a wonderful time visiting the park, there is so much to do. It’s not just the typical amusement park offerings, they are quite unique as we are seeing at a lot of the slopeside parks in the New England Area.  They have a rock climbing wall, a mountain coaster, Alpine Super Slide, Kid Climb, The”Giant Swing” and lots more!  We’re really becoming big fans of the fun adventures that we’ve been coming across. My son is also now addicted to rock climbing walls. This was his first time getting all the way to the top, he was super excited!

We both went on The Giant Swing which is literally a giant swing that you are strapped into, pulled back and then let go. I totally woke the dead on that one! I screamed on the TOP of lungs! I am pretty sure my son was embarrassed.  It was SO much fun though, I had no idea it would be that cool just by looking.

My son went crazy over the Kid Climb seen below. It’s a nice and safe chance for the kids to challenge themselves.  Great fun and self esteem booster too!

Jiminy Peak Mountain Resort is a pleasant and affordable place to stay with many perks, conveniences and pure fun right at the resort!
